  1. Salad was guacamole, shredded greens and an avocado cream dressing (store mix, nothing fancy)

    Steak was Montreal seasoning, render down fat (3-4mins), sear (1 min per side) in cast iron with 1/3 stick of butter, 350 oven to finish (5 mins), rest (2-3 mins)

  2. It’s amazing. I came here thinking I’d be adding to a bunch of comments about how perfectly the steak was and there are a bunch of heathens in here telling you to cook an absolutely **FUCKING PERFECT** mid rare strip as though it might have AIDS.

    That’s a fucking perfect steak. If you eat meat medium well or higher you’re torturing yourself and very truly increasing your chances of colon cancer.

    You may not have heard the term “juicy steak” before, but that’s really how it’s supposed to be. Juicy. No one wants a steak with a texture of sand or freakin cedar bark. Christ.

    The grain of a Strip Steak runs side to side. For the most tender, delicious slices, cut the strip steak in to two equal halves (it’ll look like you have two filets), then turn them 90 degrees and slice. You will have tender, against the grain slices that make the strip steak eating experience more akin to eating a ribeye.

    The cook of that steak is on point!
